After years of hype and expectation, Graphene has now reached the point at which it can be transferred from prototype application to mass product production.

Grapchina 2017

Bandera, with its extrusion knowledge in the design and construction of extrusion machinery, has created GRAPHOLYMER ® a methodology to create compounds and use them in large scale industrial production lines in order to create products for numerous immediate applications in a wide range of fields, from packaging to agriculture, from furniture to automobiles, from building to aeronautics, etc.

The House of Extrusion ® is the largest European centre for wet testing, where it is possible to combine compounds created with graphene or other 2D materials that give the final products specific characteristics that allow the improvement of properties as well as new applications.
From a few hundred grams to several tons per hour, the polymers combined with graphene could be melted with Bandera extrusion technology for real mass production.

Extrusion Academy and The House of Extrusion are open to collaboration with academia and industry in order to develop new products that could take advantage of the extrusion technology.

With IIT Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia of Genova, Italy, Bandera has already created compounds and 3D filaments on different polymers to be used for 3D printing applications.

At Grapchina Giovanni A. della Rossa, Innovation & IP Manager, will present Grapholymer technology during the section “Graphene in High Performance Composite” on Tue 26th of September 2017.

Bandera, a 70 year old Italian company, is a leader in extrusion technology with more than 15,500 worldwide customers and 35,000 installed extruders.
