Bandera proudly announces its sponsorship and participation at the 7th edition of the Graphene Conference series, the largest European event on Graphene and 2D Materials. The exhibition will take place from the 28th until the 31st of March 2017 in Barcelona (Spain).

Bandera spa, established in 1947, is an internationally recognised leader in the production and engineering of plastics extrusion lines and plants with a vast range of products and polymers. In particular its lines, are used in the worlds of packaging, agriculture, geomembranes, building, automotive, 3D printer filaments, ranging from 0.3 to 3,000 kg/h. Bandera currently boasts 15,500 active customers and 35,000 installed extruders worldwide that extrude 470,000 t of products everyday.

Bandera is particularly excited to be a part of the innovations that are happening in IIoT – Industrial Internet of Things with its proposal IoE – Internet of Extrusion and IoP – Internet of Packaging. Soon all products and flexible thin plastics electronic devices around us will be connected. Bandera is keen to collaborate to resolve the needs of loading polymers with nanoparticles, graphene, 2D materials via extrusion, lamination, coating and printing; in order to obtain a product in an all-in-one process.

The recently created EA – Extrusion Academy, is a division which has been created with R&D, academia and research centres in mind. The House of Extrusion is the most innovative centre for packaging and converting in Europe, where it is possible to scale-up to industrial production and to conduct product development and IP innovation either independently or as part of a joint venture.

Bandera’s collaborations with IIT – Istituto Italiano Tecnologia Genova, Italy, and CGC – Cambridge Graphene Centre, Cambridge, UK and, are signs of the exploration between extrusion and graphene and other 2D materials. 3D printing filaments and electronics substrates are the first applications.
